Nintendo Announces Camera Updates for 3DS

| 26 November 2011

Nintendo has announced through a press conference some developments for its 3DS handheld console, which has experienced strong but lower-than-expected sales.

The platform comes with a system update that would bring new options to the camera. Users are able to record 3D-quality movies up to 10 minutes in length, as well as capture time lapse or multiple shots per second or stop motion. The update also enables users to shift data to a “new 3DS,” which may indicate a sort of “3DS Lite.” Nintendo also announces 3D versions of its classic games such as Kid Icarus and Kirby’s Adventure, like Excitebike and Xevious before them.

The 3DS maker even comes up with a raffle of sorts this holiday season. Buy two Nintendo games and you are eligible to a draw to win one of these cute Mario-theme Nintendo 3DS seen on this photo. Before you get excited, it seems that this promo is only done in Japan, but let’s hope that these special-edition models will be available for retail
